Chopped vegetables in brick

CHOPPED VEGETABLES IN BRICK – SECONDARY PACKAGING

This sector includes bricks for supermarket shelves, containing ready-to-eat onions, parsley, etc., usually wrapped with shrink film through shrink ovens.

Critical points

  • The bricks are light and easily deformable
  • The wrapped goods are heated in the shrink oven
  • The shrink films used in this application have an average thickness of 40 µm.

HIPAC solutions

Hipac has developed “Collation stretch”, a special family of stretch films for the cold shrink wrapping of industrial packs.

The films most commonly used for this type of application belong to the C200 series, and are generally used on machines that wrap the bundle in discontinuous mode.

The thickness typically used varies from 9 to 15 µm.

The advantages of HIPAC films

Reducing the thickness saves up to 50% of the material used to make the pack

No need for a shrink oven, up to 90% electricity savings
