HIPAC, one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of stretch film for industrial packaging, has voluntarily chosen to install an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in the production departments of its headquarters in Cazzago San Martino (Brescia).

The installation of such a device can have a decisive impact. According to official INAIL data, there are approximately 60,000 cases of sudden cardiac arrest recorded in Italy every year. In these situations, time is of the essence: every minute without intervention drastically reduces the chances of survival, which can instead increase by up to 60% with the prompt use of an AED.

The new AED installed at HIPAC is not only an important asset for the company, but also a useful service for the community of Cazzago: the device has been registered on the Regione Lombardia PADDLES portal, which will allow emergency services to quickly locate it in case of an emergency.

The installation of the AED device within the production departments is only the latest of the initiatives adopted by HIPAC in terms of safety and health protection for workers.

These include participation in the Safety Pulse project, promoted by Confindustria Brescia with the aim of strengthening the role of supervisors and stimulating a renewed culture of safety in the workplace. The initiative included both classroom training and on-the-job coaching to trigger concrete and tangible change in daily habits and behaviours.

In particular, the project resulted in the development of a set of Safety Rules, based on concrete behaviours to prevent accidents, developed together with the operators themselves.
